A number of mums from the ‘Peacocks’ class (formerly Woodpeckers) at Burhill school got together to organise a collection for a tree in Sarah’s memory. In pink below is the note written by Nancy to all the other mums.

Dear Peacocks (ex Woodpeckers) mums

As some of you are already aware, plans have been underway for some time to plant a tree in Sarah Jack’s memory, in the St Peter’s Churchyard.

You may remember that a class collection took place when Sarah passed away and, after consulting Stuart, it was agreed that a tree would be a fitting tribute to a truly special lady who is missed more than words can ever describe.

There will be a tree planting ceremony on Monday 15th December starting at 2pm at St Peter?s Church.

Stuart has also invited some of Sarah?s closest friends from outside of the school community and her family will also attend the ceremony.

If you would like to attend, please can you reply as soon as possible so we can indicate expected numbers to Revd Whitehead.

Below are some pictures of the ceremony, lead by Rev. Nick Whitehead.

After ten years of Sarah’s passing I decided it would be appropriate to organise a plaque for the tree for identification. Below are the pictures of the tree and plaque in May 2018.
